Trekking
Our hiking experiences take place on both official marked trails and lesser-known paths near the Fajãs, areas of exceptional ecological, scenic, and cultural value.
We focus on small groups to minimize environmental impact while enhancing the connection between participants and guides. This approach allows for a more personalized service and a deeper interpretation of the island’s natural and cultural heritage.
Along the trails, participants will encounter breathtaking landscapes, including the iconic Fajãs, waterfalls, and dramatic ocean views. Each experience is designed to immerse visitors in authentic local culture, encouraging interaction with the community through elements such as gastronomy, including coffee, vineyards, and the renowned São Jorge cheese.
Level of difficulty: From easy to hard (mostly medium)
Distance: From 3.1 to 17 km
Duration: Between 4 and 8 hours
Season: Available all year (subject to weather conditions)
Includes: Liability and personal accident insurance, certified guides, and transfers

Required Equipment (participant responsibility)
- Light clothing for spring and summer, warmer and waterproof for autumn and winter
- Mid or high-top hiking boots for proper ankle support
- Small backpack for personal belongings
- Walking sticks (optional)
- Swimsuit or shorts and towel (optional), sunscreen
- Each participant is responsible for bringing their own snack (e.g. sandwich, 1.5L bottle of water, juice, chocolate or dried fruit, fruit).
